The Organization

The Mission

The Dr. Frank Ryan Foundation is a philanthropic organization founded in 1994 by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan.  The mission of the foundation is to help underprivileged and underserved children and teens excel beyond their current situations and maximize their potential in life.  The foundation accomplishes its goals in several ways: (1) by removing gang-related tattoos, birthmarks and scarring; (2) through leadership and life training workshops and seminars; and (3) through day camps and overnight camps at Malibu’s 26 acre Bony Pony Ranch.

Purpose

The Foundation creates an atmosphere where young people can maximize their talents and achieve new goals in life though leadership training and by being exposed to new role models and mentors who can provide a positive influence.  The Bony Pony Ranch is a 26 acre horse ranch in Malibu; its purpose is to provide a setting for the Foundation’s leadership and life training workshops, day and weekend camps, nature workshops, sports activities, mentoring and many more activities.

The Dr. Frank Ryan Foundation’s main objective is to help children and youth in need and to instill in them a sense of achievement, responsibility and self-esteem while restoring their pride and dignity. Many have become convinced that they cannot be part of mainstream America.  At The Ranch they quickly discover they have the potential to develop fully and to contribute to society as a whole.  They are given everyday tools to help them while encouraging them to lead productive and satisfying lives.
